M y great nephew has a birthday this week, this is the birthday card I made for him. Have you made one of the these fun and easy shaker cards? They are so quick and easy, you will be making all kinds.
Card Base: Cut Pretty Peacock 8 ½ X 11 paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½ X 5 ½ . Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½.
Card Front: Cut Whale of a Time paper 4 X 5 ¼. Stamp sentiment with Pretty Peacock on White paper. Punch out with 1” circle punch. Attach to the upper right hand corner of the card front. Fussy cut (cut closely around the image) a swimming turtle and attach to the left side of the card front. There are all kinds of sea animal images in this paper pack, you could cut out a variety and add as many as you want.
Insert card front into clear envelope. Move the card front so it is against the bottom and 1 side of the clear envelope. Fold over the side of the envelope not against the card front, so the clear envelope is tight around the card front making sure the card front remains flat. I used a bone folder to get a flat fold on the clear envelope. Tape down this fold with tear & tape.
Add Whale of a Time sequins to the clear envelope in front of the card front. Fold the top of the clear envelope to the back of the card front and tape that edge with tear & tape. Add tear & tape on the back of the card front to the bottom and side that doesn’t have the tear & tape.
Remove backing from all four pieces of tear & tape and attach to the Pretty Peacock card front.
For the inside of your card, cut a piece of Whisper White 4 X 5 ¼. Stamp a sentiment and attach a strip of paper ½ X 5 ¼, cut from scrap left from card front.
