V ibrant card using blending and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Timid Tiger Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Darling Duckling Cardstock
Put the large white rectangle inside the Embossing Folder from the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder so it is vertical with the sailboat slightly closer to the right edge. Close the folder and put it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Leave the folder out.
Lay the dry embossed cardstock on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Timid Tiger Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the clouds on the dry embossed white rectangle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: Rub some excess ink off on Grid Paper and then start on the Grid Paper before rubbing onto the cardstock.
Rub a different Small Blending Brush across the open Darling Duckling Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the rest of the sky on the dry embossed white rectangle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Don't worry if you get color on the embossed sailboat image.
Tip: Rub some excess ink off on Grid Paper and then start on the Grid Paper before rubbing onto the cardstock.
Rub a different Small Blending Brush across the open Misty Moonlight Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the water on the dry embossed white rectangle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Don't worry if you get color on the embossed sailboat image.
Tip: Rub some excess ink off on Grid Paper and then start on the Grid Paper before rubbing onto the cardstock.
If desired, rub the Small Blending Brush used for the Timid Tiger Ink on that ink pad again. Then, lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the clouds on the dry embossed white rectangle again to help blend the colors in the sky. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Don't worry if you get color on the embossed sailboat image.
Tip: Rub some excess ink off on Grid Paper and then start on the Grid Paper before rubbing onto the cardstock.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sunrise Sailing Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the small wave ripples image from the Sunrise Sailing Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the blended dry embossed rectangle in the water area just below the dry embossed boat image as shown.
Mount the "best wishes" or "ahoy!" sentiment from the Sunrise Sailing Set on Block C or D. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Darling Duckling strip so it closer to the right edge, but leave room to cut it out.
Pick out the 5/8" wide banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is as close as possible to the right edge. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment strip cut out to the bottom left side of the blended and stamped, dry embossed white rectangle. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess Darling Duckling cardstock on the left edge.
Adhere the blended, stamped, dry embossed rectangle with sentiment strip attached to the front of the Timid Tiger card.
Mount the sailboat image from the Sunrise Sailing Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining white rectangle.
Mount the sailboat stripes image from the Sunrise Sailing Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Timid Tiger Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the sails of the boat stamped on the white rectangle.
Mount the sailboat hull image from the Sunrise Sailing Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Timid Tiger Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the hull of the boat stamped on the white rectangle.
Pick out the large sailboat die from the dies included in the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it inside the Embossing Folder from the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder so it fits into the grooves around the sailboat cut into the inside of the top flap (the one with the line and logo printed on it) of the Embossing Folder. Place the stamped sailboat rectangle into the layered dies/embossing folder so it is centered over the sailboat area and the sailboat is face up when you close the folder and can see the line and logo printed on the front flap. Close the folder and put it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. This will cut out and emboss the sailboat image at the same time.
Note: If you find it easier, cut out the sailboat image using just the die first and then insert the cut out image into the folder to emboss it and add some texture.
Adhere the dry embossed sailboat cut out to the card front as shown so it is centered over the sailboat dry embossed into the blended rectangle.
