Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Azure Afternoon Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 5" of light blue waves design from Scenic Coast 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the waves are horizontal on the vertical strip
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 1-3/4" from Azure Afternoon Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 5/8" x 7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
As you are ready to stamp using the Splash & Relax Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "wishing happiness floats your way" sentiment from the Splash & Relax Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the vertical, larger white rectangle.
Place the stamped white rectangle on some Crafting Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Make sure nothing is close by that you don't want to get splattered.
Gently squeeze the barrel of the prepared Hydrangea Hue Shimmer Brush to get lots of ink on the brush tip. Hold the inky tip a couple of inches above the stamped white rectangle. Sharply hit the barrel of the shimmer brush near the brush tip with the edge of the Bone Folder to make splatters on the lower right side of the white rectangle as shown. Add more splatters as desired. Allow to dry for a few minutes.
Note: The closer you hold the brush tip to the surface, the larger your splatters will be.
Adhere the strip of Scenic Coast Specialty Designer Paper to the left side of the stamped and splattered white rectangle leaving a small amount of white showing on the top, left, and bottom edges.
Adhere the matted, stamped, and splattered white rectangle to the center of the large Crushed Curry rectangle and then to the front of the Azure Afternoon card.
Mount the 4-spokes beachball image from the Splash & Relax Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Azure Afternoon Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the remaining, horizontal white rectangle.
Mount the full beachball image from the Splash & Relax Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Lemon Lolly Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped 4-spoke beach ball image lining up the spokes and edges.
Mount the ring float image from the Splash & Relax Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Lemon Lolly Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other side of the white rectangle.
Mount the set of four solid ring edges image from the Splash & Relax Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped ring float image lining it up with the edges.
Mount the set of four chevron stripes image from the Splash & Relax Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped ring float image.
Pick out the matching circle beachball die and the matching ring float die from the Splash & Relax Dies. Put them on top of the stamped images on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Pick out the solid pair of sunglasses die from the Splash & Relax Dies. Put it on top of the Azure Afternoon rectangle on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the small Crushed Curry rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the solid set of two glasses lenses die from the Splash & Relax Dies. Put it on top of the Crushed Curry rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Crushed Curry (yellow) side is up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backings off of the glasses lenses cut out pieces and adhere them to the sunglasses cut out.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the assembled sunglasses, ring float, and beachball cut outs on the card front to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the arrangement, adhere the sunglasses in place with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Adhere the ring float in place with Stampin' Seal. Adhere the beachball in place with a Stampin' Dimensional.
