W hen using a large single stamped image, highlighting it as the central focus of the card works well.
Project Recipe
This is a two-step stamp. I recommend using a Stamparatus to line up the images perfectly. If you do not have a Stamparatus, use careful positioning by looking down through the block when you stamp the second image.
Stamp the image one a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. First stamp the detailed image in Basic Gray ink. Then use Smoky Slate ink for the second image. Ink the second stamp and stamp it on scrap first before positioning it onto the first image. This is called "stamping off" and provides a more subdued color.
Use the Special Days die set to cut out the image.
Create a card base from Cinnamon Cider cardstock cut at 11" x 4 1/4" and scored at 5 1/2".
To the front of the card base add a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4".
Cut a second piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock at 3 3/8" x 4 5/8". Layer on top of this a piece of Cinnamon Cider In Color patterned paper cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/2". Add this to the card front.
Stampin' Up! recently introduced Foam Adhesive Sheets and they work incredibly well. Best of all, after you add it to cardstock, you can die cut!
The photo shows the remainder of the Foam Adhesive Sheet after I die cut the scalloped oval.
This photo shows where I removed the die cut scalloped oval. (I will save and use the remaining parts for another project.)
So, add a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to a piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock cut to size and use a Layering Oval die to cut out the scalloped oval.
Peel off the backing and add to the card front. Once it is adhered, you cannot move it so be careful as you position it.
Cut a slightly smaller oval from Whisper White cardstock.
Stamp the sentiment at the bottom.
Add the white oval to the card front layering it on top of the scalloped oval.
Add the die cut raccoon.
This last photo shows how the Foam Adhesive Sheet pops up the oval while adding stability.
