A layer of vellum mutes the bold patterned paper. Stampin' Write Markers add color directly to the stamp to create a dual color image.
Project Recipe
Create a card base from Rococo Rose cardstock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".
To the front of the card base add a piece of Gray Granite cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4".
On top of that layer a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8".
Cut a piece of patterned paper 3 3/4" x 5" along with a piece of vellum the same size.
After years of searching I found a vellum adhesive that does not show through the vellum when the piece is glued. See the photo of the product, which is not made by Stampin' Up!
Carefully glue the vellum to the patterned paper. If you do not have adhesive for vellum, add other glue on the part of the vellum that will be covered by the die cut white piece.
Add this piece to the card front.
Die cut a white piece of cardstock using the rectangular die in the Nature's Die set.
At the bottom, stamp the sentiment in Rococo Rose ink using the Ornate Thanks stamp set.
Add this to the card front.
Use the large peony stamp for the flower image. To achieve the two color effect, use Stampin' Write markers. I used Rococo Rose and Smoky Slate.
Because the ink dries quickly, once you have colored the image before you stamp, huff on it with your breath, which will add moisture.
Use the Peony die set to die cut the flower.
Add the peony image to the card front using dimensionals.
