Birthday in Autumn
I created several of these cards for a masculine birthday.
Let's start off with dimensions.
Pumpkin Pie Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4" on the 8-1/2" side.
Vanilla Cardstock 4-1/4" x 3" and large scraps for leaves.
All about Autumn 6 x 6 Specialty DSP - 5-1/4" x 4"
Them Bones DSP 4" x 3"
Oxidized Copper Specialty DSP - 5" x 3-1/2"
Adhere the All about Autumn DSP to the Pumpkin Pie card front.
Stamp the greeting onto the Them Bones DSP , then emboss it with black embossing powder. Note: I think white embossing powder would have been better.
Layer that to the Very Vanilla CS.
Next, adhere the layers to the front of the card centered as much as possible.
Use Pumpkin Pie Classic stamp Pad for the Maple leaf and set it aside.
Add Garden Green ink to the oak leaf stamp, then use a sponge dauber to tap around the edge with Real Red ink so it appears to be changing colors. I also tapped some in the middle. Then stamp it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock.
Die cut the leaves out.
Moving on to the veins for the leaves, we have two options. One of course, is cutting them out like you did the leaves.
What I like to do with dainty pieces is to line the backside of the cardstock, or in this case, Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper with part of a Stampin' Up! Adhesive Sheet.
Place the dies on top and run them through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. This is so easy and usually my preferred method for adhering small or dainty details.
Carefully remove the adhesive from the back of the veins and adhere them to the front of the leaves. Be careful with this step because the adhesive is VERY sticky.
Use you can use Multipurpose glue and lightly tap the nozzle along the back. You do not need much.
Adhere the first leaf to the front of the card. Then, using Stampin' Dimensionals adhere the second leaf overlapping the first leaf.
Add bling, ribbon, or whatever you prefer. I didn't use anything on the front of this card because I'm mailing it and it costs more for non-machinable stamps.
I hope you enjoyed making this card. Let me know if you have any questions.
