Q uick and easy birthday card using masking and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Stampin' Up! Masking Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Timid Tiger Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Secret Sea Cardstock
- 2-5/8" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-5-/8" square from Stampin' Up! Masking Paper
- 1-3/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Party Celebrations Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the streamer image from the Party Celebrations Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Timid Tiger Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the front of the Timid Tiger card. Remember to re-ink the image each time. Change the orientation of the image each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the card front.
Adhere the strip of Secret Sea cardstock across the center of the stamped Timid Tiger card front so it is about 1-1/4" from the top edge and the left and right edges are even.
Pick out the 2-1/8" square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the Stampin' Up! Masking Paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered. Run through the machine. Keep both pieces!
Note: You are using the square with a square cut into the center of it for this project. Keep the solid smaller square piece for use on another project.
Carefully peel the protective backing off of the masking paper square with a square cut into the center of it. Lightly press the square outline masking paper piece to your pant leg to remove some of the stickiness and make it easier to remove later. Then, adhere the masking paper square outline to the top of the 2-5/8" white square so all the outer edges are even.
Mount the grid image from the Party Celebrations Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Secret Sea Ink Pad. Stamp it across the top of the masked white square. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again across the bottom of the masked white square lining up the vertical lines. Don't worry if there is a small gap between the lines horizontally down the center of the square or if they overlap each other too much, it will get covered later.
Carefully remove the masking paper outline square from the stamped white square.
Adhere the stamped white square to the center of the card front as shown.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Year Of Flowers Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Secret Sea Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Balmy Blue rectangle.
Pick out the 7/8" wide banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered top to bottom and slightly closer to the left side. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment banner cut out to the front of the card as shown so it covers the seam between the stamped grid images and overlaps the left side of the square just a bit.
Mount the present image from the Party Celebrations Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Timid Tiger Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small white square.
Use scissors to cut out the present image by hand.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the present cut out to the card front as shown at a slight angle so it overlaps the right edge of the sentiment banner cut out and the right edge of the square a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 large Timid Tiger pearls from a sheet of 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown on either end of the Secret Sea strip.
