T
his pop-up card was inspired by Lisa Curcio.
This card uses a retired Designer Series Paper called Expressions In Ink. As well as some soon-to-be retired ink colors and embellishments. But you can substitute ANY supplies to make your version!
It's the fold that makes this card fun :)

Strip of 1" scrap that will fit into the
Double Oval Punch (you will only be
punching the small oval)
Take the 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Polished Pink cardstock and burnish on all score lines.
Take 2 of the 4 matching DSP panels and adhere them to the 2nd and 3rd panels of the card base. We are purposely leaving the 2 ends blank for now.
Take the 2 5/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Basic White and stamp Best Wishes using Memento Ink, in the center of the panel.
Take the large watercolor image stamp and ink it with Polished Pink ink. Then stamp it off 2 times before stamping it across the center of the panel, over the sentiment. We stamp it off twice so that we have a very faint image over the sentiment.
Die cut a 3" circle (Stylish Shapes Dies) from the 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Basic White.
Take the 4" x 4" piece of Basic White and stamp the large flower in Polished Pink, the flower center in Mango Melody, and a set of leaves in Evening Evergreen. Die cut the flower and leaves.
Using Dimensionals, place the Polished Pink flower in the center of the 3" circle.
Take the 1" strip of Basic White and stamp Happy Birthday. Then cut it out using the small oval on the Double Oval punch.
Attach the sentiment oval to the lower right-hand side of the 3rd panel.
Flip the card base over to the back, and adhere the white piece to the 2nd panel.
Take the piece of DSP that you cut for the back, and adhere it to the 3rd panel on the back.
We are not attaching anything to the 2 end panels on the back of the card. However, you are free to do so if you wish.
Place the front of the card on your work surface, making sure all panels are open.
Take the Polished Pink pop-up strip and fold on the 3 score lines. Hold the strip so that the 1/4" score is to your left.
Lay the strip on the center of the card front, so that the fold for the 1/4" score is just in front of the score line for the first panel.
Apply adhesive to the back of the Polish Pink strip just covering the 1/4" and adhere it to the card front.
Take one of the 2 remaining DSP panels and adhere it over the 1st panel of the card front, covering up the 1/4" piece of the pop-up strip.
Next, fold back the last panel of the card front. Then with the Polished Pink pop-up strip still laying across the center of the card front, manually fold the end of the strip a round to the back of the folded 4th panel. Use a bone folder or your fingernail to fold on the crease.
Now, open that last panel so that the entire card is fully open in front of you. Place adhesive on the last section of the Polished Pink pop-up strip, just to the end section before the manual crease you just made.
BEFORE you attach the last panel of DSP to the card front., fold the 1st panel and the last panel backward and make sure that the pop-up strip lays flat across the front of the card. If there is any buckling at all, gently pull up the right side of the pop-up strip and reposition it so that the card will lie flat, then re-attach the strip.
Once you are satisfied that the card lays flat, adhere the last DSP piece to the last panel of the card front.
Open the card front so that the center score line create a valley fold, and the 1st and last panel make mountain folds.
Manually fold the other 2 scores on the Polished Pink pop-up strip so that the strip bows towards you.
Place a piece of Tear and Tape across the center piece, or place several glue dots there. Then attach the white circle with the Polished Pink flower.
Add embellishments to your card front.
This is the view of the back of the card.
