Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square of Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" of woodgrain design from Toadstool Gardens 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the woodgrain is vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 7/8" x 2-3/4" of woodgrain design from Toadstool Gardens 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the woodgrain is vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- scrap of Crumb Cake Cardstock
Pick out the heart die that cuts out a heart that is 2-3/8" across from the Hearts Of Elegance Dies. Put it on top of the vertical Pool Party rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered side to side and is about 3/4" from the top. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the large vertical rectangle with the heart shape cut out of the top for this project. Keep the Pool Party heart cut out for use on some other project.
As you are ready to stamp using the Friendly Seagulls Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "I love you more than" sentiment from the Friendly Seagull Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom right corner of the Pool Party rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the right edge and about 1-1/8" from the bottom edge.
Mount the seagull with fries in his beak image from the Friendly Seagulls Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the Pool Party rectangle so the feet are centered just above the stamped sentiment. Leave the stamp on the block.
Put the stamped Pool Party rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface because the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Use the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the bird's feet.
Mount the box of french fries image from the Friendly Seagulls Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the 3-1/4" vanilla square. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp each time.
Put the stamped vanilla square on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface because the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends to color the burger and bun on the fry box.
Use the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the fry box.
Use the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in some of the fries in the box and to add dots of color to the other fries.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the fries.
Adhere the stamped and colored vanilla square to the back of the stamped and colored Pool Party rectangle so the fries show through the heart cut out.
Insert the strips of woodgrain Toadstool Gardens Designer Paper into the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder so the lines of the folder are vertical on the vertical strips of paper. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure they are lined up straight. Place the folder with the designer paper inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to lightly color over the raised areas on the longer strip of dry embossed designer paper and to outline the edges of the strip.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to lightly color over the raised areas on the shorter strip of dry embossed designer paper and to outline the edges of the strip.
Adhere the shorter designer paper strip over the right side of the longer designer paper strip so there is about 7/8" between the tops of the two strips.
Cut a 6-3/4" piece of the Copper Clay jute trim from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim Pack.
Fold the jute trim into thirds. Lay the folded trim across the layered designer paper strips horizontally about 1-3/4" from the top of the longest strip. Fold the ends of the jute trim over and secure the jute trim in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backings on the Tear & Tape strips.
Put Stampin' Dimensionals all over the back of the layered designer paper strips with jute trim attached. Remove the protective backings and adhere the strips to the left side of the vertical Pool Party rectangle as shown so they are about 3/8" from the left side and the top of the longest strip just overlaps the left side of the heart cut out.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess designer paper strips at the bottom of the Pool Party rectangle.
Adhere the layered Pool Party rectangle to the front of the Cajun Craze card.
Re-ink the seagull with fries in his beak image on Block B with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on one side of the remaining vanilla strip. You don't need to get all of his feet and legs as you will be cutting them off.
Mount the seagull with his beak open image from the Friendly Seagulls Set on Block B, Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other side of the remaining vanilla strip. You don't need to get all of his feet and legs as you will be cutting them off.
Put the stamped vanilla strip on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface because the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Use the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color the feathers on the wings and tail of the birds.
Use the Light Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends to color the stripes on the birds' wings.
Use the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the birds' beaks and dot their open eyes.
Use the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the french fries in the one bird's beak.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out both birds by hand. Cut off their legs and feet.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the birds in place on the front of the card as shown. Make sure the bird with the fries in his beak is lined up over the image stamped on the Pool Party rectangle.
Mount the "french fries" sentiment from the Friendly Seagulls Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it on the scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out and cut apart the words "french fries" stamped on the Crumb Cake scrap.
Use bits of Stampin' Dimensionals cut from the edges of the dimensionals sheet to adhere the cut apart words to the front of the card as shown so they overlap each other a bit, are at different angles, and are centered below the previous sentiment and side to side between the right side of the pilings and the right side of the card.
Cut a 3" piece of the Copper Clay jute trim from the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim Pack.
Slide one end of the jute trim under the jute trim on the pilings on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
